In June 2007, Francois Pieters acquired the estate from Renier Uys, the youngest son of Dr Simon Uys, who founded Fort Simon in 1997. Today, the award-winning wines from Eikenhof's vineyards are still used to create remarkable wines for the neighboring Fort Simon farm, which is a testament to the quality of the vineyards.
